Mariam Aslam, CChem, FRSC
Mariam Aslam is a seasoned regulatory affairs professional with over 20 years of global experience in the life sciences sector. As a Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), she brings extensive expertise in Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC), regulatory compliance, strategy, and lifecycle management.
Mariam studied and obtained a BSc (Honours) in Applied Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. During her studies, she completed a sandwich year at ICI Chemicals & Polymers Limited. After graduating, her career began in the laboratory as a Scientist specialising in analytical chemistry, research and development, before transitioning into her first regulatory affairs role at SSL International.
Throughout her career, Mariam has provided strategic oversight for global regulatory submissions—including INDs, CTAs, NDAs, and MAAs—for both chemical,biologic and ATMPs medicinal products. She has supported organisations such as AstraZeneca, Novartis, Boots Contract Manufacturing, Vifor Pharma, PAREXEL, and IQVIA. Mariam is recognized for her ability to lead cross-functional teams, formulate effective regulatory strategies, and manage successful interactions with health authorities including MHRA, EMA, and FDA.
